I feel like wheelsmiths are probably more than sufficient.

I've never used them.

I heard you can build wheels with them.

What kind of information are you looking for anyway? "I built a wheel with Phil spokes and it exploded", "I built a wheel with Phil spokes because they have a P on the head instead of DT"

Spokes are spokes.

I wasn't aware they made spokes [EDIT: Dur, okay. Read the website. Nevermind]. I know they make spoke cutting/threading machines, however. I had some made by Icycles on their PW machine and my wheels haven't melted down or turned into a raccoons or anything.

I don't agree with that. Having worked with both DT and wheelsmith, I can say that you can notice the quality of the DT in the smoother threads, nicer profile, etc. but the phil spokes are damn pricey considering the DT spokes are more than adequate and half as expensive.

I don't have phil spokes, but I cut my DT spokes to size with the PW cutter/threader...

they are holding up just fine

Well, they aren't that bad for me since I work in a shop, and would be ordering them at cost, and individually instead of getting a box of 100 dt's that I am going to use 32 of. I was also going to be ordering some other PW stuff and was just going to add them to the order. I have just never heard them discussed so I thought I would see if there were any opinions from people that own them.

Considering their reputation for making quality bottom brackets and hubs, I would assume that the spokes are nice too. If you do get them, tell us what you think.

I hear that when a phil wood spoke breaks, you can make a wish on it and it will come true...
