some mixte's are real cute looking.

anyway, as for "women-specific" frames, terry makes bikes that have 24" front wheel--not like pursuit bikes, they've got a horizontal top tube. The point is to be able to have a small bike (so that people under 5'4"ish can ride comfortably) with a short toptube, 700c wheels, and NO toe overlap. i think that's way more interesting than a slanty top tube for skirts.

It would HELLACIOUSLY expensive to ship transatlantic. I sent a regular vintage bike to a fellow BFer, and it cost around $150 in shipping. They do it on volume rather than weight with something that big, and just imagine how small that bike wouldn't pack down. I'd reckon on close to $300, if it'd fit in the size restrictions at all.

One of these days, I will totally buy a delivery bike like that one. My brother, who's an art student in London, wants one too. Put deep V's and mustache bars, and ride it like I stole it.....

track frames? really?!

all that I have seen have been ridiculously expensive.
seems like there is way more demand then supply for us shorties.

yeah. internal 3spd autoshift. smooth like buttah.
test rode them at the trek dealers' convention this fall and fell madly in love.

on topic though, i've always ridden men's frames, but would kill for a trek WSD madone.
all my fixies have been HUGE men's frames (lol)

the specific frames i'm thinking of were bianchi road frames in immaculate condition for under $50 with no reserve. i wasn't looking for track frames so i don't know about that.

i agree, it's a sweet Idea but it's just in the worst place. they should try putting a wall mount bottle opener on the head tube where their logo is now. that'd be more approiate

random question involving mixte frames.. I'm overhauling a nishiki mixte for my GF and want to figure out if I have to change the fork before I proceed. the thing is, the original wheels are 26 inch monster and I want to put a 700c wheels set that I already have.. should I start looking for fork? or will it be fine? any answer is much appreciated

Mixtes aside, female specific frame sizes makes a lot of sense since so many women have longer legs and shorter arms relative to a dude of the same height. My sister in law is a good seven inches shorter than me but has the same inseam. She is really stretched out on a men's frame that has the right size st, or else she has to put the bars way down low and jack up the seat on a frame with the right size tt. It was hard for me to get her a bike and set it up properly and even now it's really a sub optimal fit.
