Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? What to do with a nice track bike?

So you have a real hott track bike, hand made steel, or something equally sexy. Its a real nice machine, and you really respect it and appreciate it.

How do you best show your love of this bike? Ride it as hard as you can, earning it plenty of nicks and dings, or treating it real gingerly, like a work of art?

Nice bikes are like nice hookers...ride that **** as hard as you can as long as you can, and never look back.

There's no sense having a bike that you can't ride.

Sell it on ebay for wildly inflated prices by using the word track as often as possible. Go out to dinner, get some nice beer and buy a bike you will ride with the proceeds.

the only to treat it like a work of art would be to enjoy it. that doesn't mean being stupid, like locking it in times square during monsoon season and pooping in the seattube. you can still ride it hard and take care of it and love it and whatnot.
