Worst karma EVER..............

This happened thursday of last week, the 28th maybe?

then after changing out all bent parts and broken wheel, I went to ride into work monday, only to get hit by a guy blowing a red to make it onto the vine parkway. He almost hit 2 riders that were right behind me, luckily just hit me. I go up onto his hood, hit his windshield, then fall off the drivers side.

only thing I broke was my hand and my good vibes. I need reconstructive surgery on my shattered 3rd metacarpal before the shards start to set[give or take in like 3 days]. So on comes the car insurance battle.

The bone shards almost came through the top of my hand, and the bruising is from internal bleeding in my hand.

So yeah. Worst karma ever. I don't know what I did to **** it up, but it sucks.

Oh, and typing one handed suckssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh damn, well that makes my bike problems seem a little more manageable in comparison. So did the dude stop?

edit: nevermind, need to read, unless it was some whacky **** where he just tossed his insurance slip out the window and drove off.

No ticket, the cop on scene said he could give the guy a ticket for blowing the light, then the cop turned to me and told me he could give me a ticket for "riding the way you kids do".

Wow, at least you have a modern sculpture there. Pretty impressively ****ed up wheel with that 6-inch rim section hanging off.
I wish you a quick recovery.

man, impact ripped the brake right off the fork too!

anyway, you can write the guy a ticket yourself if you want to push it. Id talk to the cops sup about his response too.

sorry 'bout the injury; heal well.

Yup. The copper on the scene on my bike Vs. truck incident gave me a ticket, and didn't repeort an accident.

I beat that ****er in court , though. Hooray for self-defence!

Still working on the insurance battle, you read the threads...

what do you mean, it's totally cause you're vegan. since you reject the suffering of animals you are in turn made to suffer in their place. obviously. but yeah...philly cops...real hit or miss bunch. they don't care when you blow lights, or do anything illegal on bikes. and they aren't very helpful when it's time for it. i guess i'd rather ride unharrassed and take my chances than get a ticket for running a stop sign but have the cops on my side.

I say this just in case you make the same mistake while filling out paperwork, last Thursday was the 26th, the 28th was Saturday (6th wedding anniversary, that's why it jumped out at me right away).

Heal up and I would fight to make sure that guy got a ticket. It could have been much worse and it might help teach him a lesson. Good luck with everything!

Crap, JP, is that karma for leaving Boston? Get the hell out of Philly quick! I'm still riding on a bent fork from a love-tap by a u-turning car. I'm dumb though and didn't get the insurance info. Best of luck getting compensated for your pain and suffering.

Heal up man, glad you're relatively ok. I've been ticketed for running a red (it was yellow dammit!) and I didn't hit anybody. How did this guy run a red and hit you and not get a ticket? That's f*cked up.

Yeah, might be. I was thinking of taking this vic perscription and selling them all. Or maybe I should just break and get trashed, eat a steak, and drive drunk, you know, improve my american morale/karma a bit. Maybe get a dream catcher tattoo.

I hope this aint my karma for leaving boston, I was lucky enough to meet some damn good people there before i left. Maybe this is my karma for not spending more time with all of them, HA!

thanks all for best wishes and whatnot, I'm sure I'll let you all know what happens, as everything develops.
