Hay how’s it going
Iv been riding road for a number of years and finaly decided it was time to building my first fixed gear. I wanted to go on a inexpensive production this time around and see how the fit works. I have an option to buy an old Peugeot frameset, already has a fork, headset, stem, and a bottom bracket. its all going for around 100 $. The bottom bracket is campagnolo looks to be in good shape. I wanted to know if anyone had any advice or info about the Peugeot frameset. Any other advice is welcomed to.

Lower-end models (UO-8) are OK, with comfortable geometry and a good ride, but depending on your location, $100 is steep with no wheels. If it's a PX-10, that's another story.

Depending on how old 'old' is, you'll need French sized bars. Luckily, you've got the other annoying parts to get - particularly the BB. I'm not sure Campy made a BB in French thread, so maybe it isn't that old and there are no problems?

Definitely depends on the condition of the frame and what parts it takes. Personally, I wouldn't spend $100 on it, maybe more like $50.

I also agree that $100 is steep for that frameset. Negotiate it way down or shop around. My conversion was built on a $10 thrift shop find. Nothing fancy but on a grins per dollar basis it can't be beat. No doubt many others here have a similar story.

Both the building and the riding will be fun!

yeah i also jsut found out that the frame also comes with a seat post, head set, stem, and a front wheel.The front wheen is an older ma4 rim 36hole laced up to a suzue jr. high flange track hub.

I went to a bike shop that has the fuji brand of the same frame and it looked ok for 1st time and the fit was not to far off

they should pay you to take the suzue jr. off their hands

man, even the windsor's come with formula sealed bearing hubs these days.
the days of crappy hubs seem to be over.

for $300, that seems like a pretty good bike. have fun with it!

k so the suzue jr is a no go. but i could build up the rest of the bike if i talked down the price a bit.

I have been looking at a fix-e. I looked at getting an older bike and doing the work to make it a fix-e but after I added up the cost...it came close to 200 bucks or so...

I also looked at getting a new frame and adding bits here and there but that came in over 300 bucks...

So after reading here about how good the fuji frame is I looked at "the hour"...

the hour is the juji frame w/ the windsor logo slapped on it...I also went to go see the frame in person and it was not to bad...oh...the fuji was selling at 350 plust tax and no pedals...

for the money, for a 1st time fix-e, the hour just hit the price point...

no tax, so shipping cost, and the bike is at your door in about a week...not bad

same bike can be had for same price on e-bay with more colors to pick from...

con--some don't like the bike b/c it is an import bike...some don't like the seller...

Keep looking on eBay for a better frame. A nice 80's race frame (good geometry) can be had for way under $100.
