i dont understand how pistas got affiliated with hipsters can someone explain this to me? also what does pista even mean in the dictionary says: "a long narrow area used for the games of bowling or skittles"
look, I'm sorry you bought the popular bike and are now regretting it
make the shop will take it back if you ask real nice |
It's a bike, who cares what other people say? And really, what are they saying? "That guy has a bike some other guy has, what a hipster he is!" Big deal.
Where's the picture of Jesus with a Pista??
Jesus started a lot of trends. I blame Him. |

Bianchi Pista's are popular because they're relatively inexpensive for a "good" track/fixed gear bicycle. So if lots of people have them, people will start saying hipsters are using them. For example: "I hate air, those stupid hipsters use it so much". I used to fret about the very same thing but then realized that if I like the bike, I should own/ride one. Stop worrying about your bike being a hipster bike. If someone gives you guff for owning a Bianchi Pista, tell him to "f*ck off and stop worrying about hipsters you goddamn hipster". |
it got associated with hipsters because it's a cheap and fast way to get into a temporary trend/hobby.
You can really get one just about anywhere. |

taste the rainbow |
Pista means track in spanish too.
I wouldn't bother worrying about this too much. Given the price that track frames are commanding on the used market at the moment, I think that the Pista is a pretty good deal.
You mean pisters? Didn't I read about them in Savage Love last week?
also, chrome bikes are pretty |

all the better to accept the gifts of the young!
pista can also refer to ski slopes and other 'courses' or 'tracks' in general.
I dont have a pista was just wondering about them...thanks for the help guys :)
^^ Pista can also refer to tracks on a record or CD.
How About.......
Its FUN to ride a fixed gear Its great training I dont give a Rats Ass if "hipsters" like it or not besides once it ceases to be "cool" they will be selling all of their bikes for cheap (that'd be good eh?) they only think its "cool" because messengers are percieved as "cool" (not that they aren't but the whole "image" thing is goofy) Im sure once the Jessica Simpson Bike Messenger thing comes out that'll help end the trend $0.02 |
everyone should buy a pista, if too many people have them, then hipsters will stop riding them. the thing they hate most is having what everyone else has.
pistas and white belts go well together
Are there any pictures on the internet of a pister?
I see a lot of people in Wicker Park riding 3-speeds. Does the Classic & Vintage forum complain about the hipsters as well?
What are hipsters any ways? Young white people? |
