Socks!

Why wear anything boring on your legs when you're going to show them off while wearing stylish knickers? Note: you don't have to be a sock-fetishist to enjoy this.

https://www.sock-dreams.com Yes the site is mostly geared towards girls. And girls on fixed? Go! there's super-cool stuff there!

the men's section isn't so extensive but they have some good looking, and warm looking, stuff available.

Nine bucks for a pair of socks, pshht. That's highway robbery! (done in my best "dad" voice)

I think those striped kneehighs are a great deal for $6, and they'll look super awesome with shants for the winter. I ordered 3 pair, and they shipped em free. Sheesh usually I'm the one complaining stuff is too expensive. What's going on? Is this the bizarro world?

My mom asked for socks for christmas about 5 years ago. My parents are both runners, so my dad thought it was a reasonable request. About $200 later, he came home with a bunch of fancy running socks, put them in a big box and wrapped it up.

My mom still hasn't forgiven him.

however, its a very reasonable price for cycling socks, which can be very nice for long rides. not necessary, but nice.

True, they are pretty nice. I bought 3 pair at a gear swap for $1.

I'm a fan of super-ugly ankle-high mountain bike socks. You can get horrendously-colored ones made of awesome tech fabric super-cheap all the time at REI and Performance.

It's all about Smartwool socks. I can't wear anything else anymore. They're pretty pricey (even on sale at Sierra Trading Post), but totally worth the cost. They're not as crazy looking as all those other ones, though they do have some kind of cool ones.

Oh, like you people had such earthshaking plans for your eight bucks. "Those pink and green stripey ones look pretty nice, but how can I buy them AND develop the perfect portable system for purifying drinking water supplies in the Third World? Stupid sock company, perpetuating pandemic cholera!"

I love how people defend buying $200 sweaters, and shants because they are so much better than cutoffs, but $8 for a pair of socks is just beyond the pale.

who's buying $200 sweaters?! that's a freaking crime. damn. i'll drop $100 at the most for really awesome jacket. i don't think i would drop $200 on any piece of clothing unless it gave me super powers or was a pair of jeans guarenteed never to rip fade or die.

that being said, i got socks for xmas. booya grandma.
