Front Brake as a rear with a bunch of washers??

So I'm gonna ride my bike as a SS for a while. I have an extra front brake lying around. Anyone know if its ok to just make up the difference in the length of the pivot bolt with washers? I figure its not a big deal since most of your stopping power is the front anyway. Thoughts?
