Holy crap. $400 for a chainring, chain, and cog? I could spend less than $50 on that stuff and still smoke a jamoke.

Ok , I have full high end on most of my bike. Look at pics of my Level. All decked out, then ridden the hell out of it.

remember, its your bike ride it anyway you want.

I wish I had a bike with hell in it, so that I could ride it out of it. Does NJS help with that?

adamsallez 01-04-07 11:21 AM

I am so stoked. I am under the impression that the Grand Mighty will clash....badly....that's the only reason I want the Black 75's. What do you guys think....standard Sugino ring...or Sugino Messenger? Black on Black of course.

Shiznaz 01-04-07 11:26 AM

The key is obviously to buy whatever high quality crank you like, and get it painted exactly like the frame (or just white if they can't match the funky paintjob).

adamsallez 01-04-07 11:31 AM

If i went all silver parts I would get a Full DuraAce group...High Flange hubs, cranks, headset, jaguar stem, jaguar seatpost, Kashimax saddle, etc. If i went gold....which i think woudl be cool due to the gold glitter in the paint....then I'd gt the gold gruppo from Ben's. I'm sure I can talk him down in price 10%....I have bought from him before.

I like this idea. The frame is pretty flashy on its own.

adamsallez 01-04-07 12:48 PM

YEah...i know. Shoot. Well I gotta scrounge up $955 first....so I have some time to decide! I want to go gold, cuz then it will obviously flashy...but if I went silver...i think it ay clash with the gold flake in the paint.

vinnydelnegro 01-04-07 12:52 PM

my lord....so that's what can happen when you finally say "price is no object". my "price is no object" bike would be completely different, but i assume that you've put alot of time and energy into this build, so you could probably care less about the naysayers. i think it will look incredible. you ARE going to post pics of the completed build yes?

adamsallez 01-04-07 01:07 PM

Of course! I am a photographer...so that's what I do! Here is a link to my newly build DeRosa Road Bike, my cousin's Fettish Track bike powdercoated florescent Pink, and my friend's Vivalo Keirin bike:

eddiebrannan 01-04-07 03:38 PM

don't think the sugino's gonna look right with the rest, but hey, i only have taste, not money. wish it was the other way round sometimes.

When I go to Ben's Cycle and Fitness, like, the real physical shop, they almost always discount me on stuff. So the prices come out nicely.

onetwentyeight 01-04-07 03:58 PM

gold campy bmx cranks! throw the 100% njs silliness to the wind, and embrace the inner bling.

Now yer talkin'!

Believe it or not, that actually makes tons of sense. We won't be racing in Japan anytome soon, may as well go all the way live.

This **** is expensive as hell in Seattle and there are few options, not to mention that the sales tax is pretty outrageous. If I were spending hundreds on bike parts it would most likely be online somewhere. Ben's happens to have a lot of this type of bling in one place, though Business Cycles is probably where I would go. That or pick up parts on my next trip to tax-free Portland.

Shiznaz 01-04-07 04:29 PM

Or just buy a full DA/nitto track group and get them custom anodized. Probably would end up costing you the same, plus you get +5 magic defense for complete NJS matching components, plus nobody else will have it.

edit: purple anodized. It would be the jazz.

The Beard 01-04-07 04:33 PM

keep dreaming...

Serendipper 01-04-07 04:52 PM

Just get a components gruppo made from real hobbits.

adamsallez 01-04-07 04:58 PM

Word! SOmeone...a while back had a full DuraAce group in Gold.....i forgot about that! That would be PRIME! lemme know if anyone remembers who it was and where! That'd be the HIT! DA cranks, hubs, headset...then a gold Nitto Stem and bars, and post...white saddle, purple Champs grips....oh man! I am getting randy! Gold Deep-V's 36 hole of course.
