BFSSFG group order IRO frameset poll

I started this thread because I thought it would be easier to keep track of everybodys choice and how many people want one with a poll. The Mark V and Angus seem to be the main choices. I wouldn't mind a Rob Roy to be honest, but I don't think enough people want one. This poll is to get an idea of how many people are seriously interested in this, and which bike they would prefer. Please don't vote unless you will actually throw down money for one of these.

So, which one do you want?

fibergoldfish 01-12-07 12:25 PM

I'd prefer an angus but really I Would be happy with either

yellowjeep 01-12-07 12:26 PM

i think i would do either

marqueemoon 01-12-07 12:30 PM

I would prefer a Mark V but I'm flexible so voted either/or.

Grasschopper 01-12-07 12:31 PM

Hmm 3 posts that say either but only 2 votes?

White or bare steel Angus 48cm... non-standard color is cool as long as it's not neon.

I only want the frame if it's a BF exclusive a non-standard color...otherwise I'll pass.

has anyone even contacted tony with all the questions we've come up with? like, custom colors, shipping to multiple addresses, different sizes? it would be nice to know what we have to work with before we get all antsy.

Ken Wind 01-12-07 01:29 PM

I don't think anybody has contacted him yet, but it would be a good idea to see if there is enough interest first.

dustinlikewhat 01-12-07 01:31 PM

no defintely, but it seems as though some people are only interested if it's a non-standard color, so if we get 50 people, and then find out that we can only get black frames, we could lose 10 to 15 people (myself included).

I vote for Army green, battleship grey, slate blue. Rusty orange, basically any color that is a bit unusual, a bit subdued, and NOT too bright. Maybe I should move to Seattle.

whatever color it is I think it needs four asterisks somewhere on it.

Something better than this, but that's the basic idea

why not get volume to make their bikes & give us a deal on either a frame or a complete rig? it will give them a reason to make them & we would definately be a great launching pad/ riding billboards for them. just an idea.

Word Battleship Grey. That years Surly had my all time favorite bike color on it. I'd get an Angus in a heart beat.

because then we would end up having a bike that looks like the fork and headtube don't belong together.

have a 100 frame buy in, with each purchase you're automatically entered into a raffle. The winner gets a completely built bike, the other 99 practice skids on a puddle of tears.

+brown and mustard.

I like those sorts of colors, and that would probably make the difference in me getting one or not. I'd also only get the Angus.

Batson 01-12-07 05:49 PM

Battleship grey sounds lovely.

Kilgore_Trout 01-12-07 06:28 PM

can we do an angus frame with a mark v fork? because i like the fact that the angus has higher quality tubing, but i want a threadless fork. if not i'll just go with a threadless adaptor.
also, are the mark v and angus equal in tightness?

Who would pay for the build up?

sivat 01-12-07 07:49 PM

Battleship grey angus sounds cool. Though I would prefer something with steeper geometry.
