Riding Groups
So. I've been riding bicycles consistently since I was about 3 years old(I'm 23 now, so that's roughly 20 years of riding experience)... so the concept is far from new to me... but for the majority of my mileage, I've ridden alone. It started with mountain bikes at a young age, then BMX, then my obsession with beach cruisers, and about 4 years ago I started to ride road bikes...I graduated to singlespeed about a year ago and out of sheer curiousity, I converted my vintage Raleigh into a fixie and I'm loving it...anyway I'm getting off topic here.
To get to the point, I'm wondering if there's riding groups in the Bay Area that are open to new people? As of now, I ride my bike to commute and commute only... I'd really like to ride for fun with a group maybe on the weekends?

Look for cycling clubs in your area with google if you don't mind riding with a wide cross section of people (ie not necessarily young hip (and i use the term non pejoratively) fixed riders). Clubs have group rides and they are usually rated for how fast they will be so that someone of any level can get the kind of ride they want. Also I believe there is a local boards link on the top of this forum, you might have some luck poking around there if you want to ride with other fg-ers.
