I know ****all about BMX, but I do know that the sport has never not been absurd both in its visibility and appeal to soulless consumerism. Track bikes have been absurd for only a few years now that the internet makes one-upism so instantaneous. At least with BMX, you'd have to wait a month or so until the next video or magazine came out to oogle the next big thing. I guess, though, that the X-Games kinda changed that.

helicopter helicopter over my head I pick the color and the color is ahhhhh h too many colors

lacosta_rasta 02-15-07 09:04 PM

i was at daves and asked how much..they are coming out next week..12 of them and thats it..each one is gonna be a little different..they are asking around 2 grand..

john_and_off 02-15-07 09:16 PM

the trackstar/dqm bike is ballin - that's for sure - but it doesn't really appeal to me personally for a number of reasons.

never mind that the whole outrageous purple and white color scheme doesn't really do it for me... who would want to buy the bike built up like that, just in terms of... i mean, if you're going to go with a real precise color scheme or very strictly defined aesthetic or whatever, isn't picking out and tracking down parts/piecing it together half the fun?

and i am getting so ****ing sick of aerospokes...

Wth is that U shaped thing "locking" down the seatpost in the first bmx?

sashae 02-15-07 11:08 PM

Bike's being hung from the wall, I believe -- that's not attached to the bike.

dudeman 02-15-07 11:42 PM

These bikes are killing me guys. Seriously.

Today I was actually just thinking about picking up some old pink girl's bikes and tricking them out. It'd be sweet if I can find one with aerospokes, though I haven't seen one of those in a thrift store in a while.

track* x dqm sux
indyfab bmx sux
fragment design booooring and suckysuck
paul smith x merican sux off the football team

why do all these designer collabos have to be so friggin precious and krappy? Coming up with a loud colorway is NOT my idea of innovation. slopping that colorway all over a million dollar bike just makes it worse.

I'd rather see a real artist (i.e. someone who draws or paints with his/her bare hands) go bananas over a bareknuckle with a paint pen. Cut a goddamn stencil and spray. DO SOMETHING

This whole kaws x bape x zoopreme ***** is so overrated. It's armani for trust fund sneakerkiddies.

It's only by virtue of the bike industry's lowest of the low graphic design standards that this krap even warrants mention. Could you imagine if I painted my snowboard white, and printed CLUSTERFACK DESIGN CO in, oh, I dunno, Arial in mint green and poo brown. Hey look - I'm a designer/ahntra-prinnure.

MLPROJECT 02-16-07 02:02 AM

I wouldn't call yourself a deisgner or entrepreneur at that point.

A designer would probably decide on a much more thought-through color palate and maybe a more refined sans-serif aside from Arial. Using mint green and poo brown, although sometimes tempting, wouldn't be a good business decision considering current color trends and forecasts.

You've got two shops in the community putting their heads together. That's a great thing. Be sick of it, but they're doing wheelies around your style.
