Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? This is a photoshop, I have seen quite a few in my time (photoshops) and I am pretty qualified to tell.

The.Scientist, not that it's your photo or commentary, but those appear to be SPDs of some sort on the bike supposedly without foot-retention... ah... sorry, should be directed at RustyPiton

Maybe the colors were altered, beyond that I can't see anything that'd mark it as 'shopped.

And jpg compression could cause that kind of pixelation.

She is planning on having someone else REMOVE HER BRAKES, after she learns to control that "beauty."

So you wish her dead because she likes Wes Anderson films? It looks like just another gaudy "track" bike build to me. Actually, by the standards of fixed gear fashion it isn't even all that gaudy.

first of all, simply the fact that she's going to have the brakes removed by a third party is ridiculous, but also if shes planning to rock no brakes then she should trade that 46 chainring in for a 42 chainring so she doesnt kill her knees or herself.

I'd rather see a girl on a Wes Anderson "fixie" than behind the wheel of a Civic with a Roxy sticker in the window.

I don't know what to think of someone with no experience having a "blinged out" Waterford... must be nice I gue$$?

She's apparently quite the softball player...

Anyway, I don't know anything about Palm Springs... if the city itself is fairly flat and she doesn't plan on doing any hilly riding (from the looks of the bike it's a fashion statement not a regular means of transportation... with a bike like that odds are she has a swanky car) I'm not sure I see why 46 x 17 is so bad...

its bad because its a rather hard ratio, and she's going to take her brakes off. with an easier ratio, she would have an easier time learning to stop and control the bike, as well as not ruin her knees as fast.
