ITS A WAX MODEL! HAHAH.
https://www.nybma.com/archive.htm

"Madame Tussaud's in Times Square has unveiled their "Lance Armstrong Experience" with a special promotion for NYBMA members. (In case you don't know, if you're a messenger in New York, we technically consider you one of our members. One Love, Baby!) Until July 4th, with this coupon (pdf), when you buy one ticket, you get one FREE! Squid, Amy, and Ken stopped by this morning for the unveiling of the figure, clad in the Tour De France's Yellow Jersey and mounted on the actual bike he rode to his 6th tour win in 2004. While Amy & I scurried back to our stupid work, Squid went inside to "race Lance" on a stationary bike set up to simulate an uphill time trial. If you're in front of a TV at 10 p.m. tonight, he's going to be on the WB11 news!"

So how is it that a "wax model" is lit from above right when the guy standing next to it is lit from above left?

I think the issue of conflicting shadows only comes into play when there is supposed to be a single, strong source of light in the scene.

And it seems to me that there could be multiple sources of light in that scene--the sun overhead, it's reflections off of shiny buildings, lights set up specifically for the display...Just look at the wax figure of Lance--the right side of his face is in shadow, while the outside of his right arm is lit. So maybe his arm was shopped in, too.

You do realize that it's possible for there to be multiple light sources lighting the subjects of a picture, right?

the tire probably isn't touching, it's probably just barely grazing the frame.

what's worse is the disc brake on the non-disc fork. i swear that thing is going to fold the fork in two if it is used like it should be.

Primarily, using a disc brake on a fork never designed with one in mind.

And it doesn't appear there's enough brake cable.
