"Scraper" (scrapper?) bike appears to be freewheel and has no brakes (unless it has a coaster brake) or foot retention.
EDIT: Foot retention wouldn't matter if it's not fixed.

Wouldn't a disc brake on the crank put ridiculous stress on the chain? I mean, when most people skid they at least lean forward to reduce downforce on the back wheel. But if my 185LB hamburger-eating-PBR-drinking-ass were to be sitting on the saddle and just slammed on the disc brake (never ridden one so I don't know how responsive they are but I imagine pretty darn good) I think it could perhaps tear a cog/strip a hub/break a chain/break spokes....I don't know the physics on this but it seems it could be bad.
Anybody know? Otherwise, seems pretty cool.
edit: Plus, it wouldn't stop you as quick as a front brake...so I think. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.

That's fairly offensive to suggest I assume this person is poor because he's black. Perhaps you're the one with a problem if you think any mention of poverty must be based on a person's race and not any of the things I outlined above, but either way that's a ****ed up thing to insinuate.
Wait, what am I saying... I forgot that Obama was president and now no racism exists any more any where ever.
On another note, scraper bikes are the new badass beach cruiser.

I don't disagree with that. The media portrays everything within a fairly narrow scope but it's unfair to assume everyone buys into the same homogenized world view because of that.

theres oddly plenty that could go wrong if you wreck on a bike without that in just that little region...your ankle could get caught up between the downtube and pedal and thatd realllly hurt..the chain could jump and the chain ring go sawzall on your leg, or even you puttin your foot down ahead of the pedal while youre rollin fast, your leg gets taken under by the pedal sorta like pitching machine motion, etc ..but yea...thatd really suck if that could potentially be a giant razor blade hahah
No plan.

I feel like I'm in a sociology class again. Can we stop using phrases like "homogenized world view" and get back to jackass bikes?

However, I suspect said "brake" could be used to prove that a brake was installed that could "cause the wheels to skid on dry flat asphalt" which is the legal brake requirement in KS (of course, he'd prove it by "using" it to skid)... so, now that I think about it, that BB Disc brake is slightly more practical than the guy who mounted a brake lever on his seat tube...
Don't really have a bike.

beating a dead horse:
hes not poor. he has brand new chucks on. he is however, a jackass. if he gets up to decent speed he will throw that chain, then with no brakes, he will have no way to stop. but it appears to be a freewheel with no breaks, which is substantially more jackass than the afore mentioned situation.

Um, I've encountered people begging for change that were dressed a lot better than him. I've also seen rich kids that were hard to distinguish from the homeless. Clothes don't necessarily indicate someone's economic status.

there is no working definition, thats the foundation of this thread- any ******* with an opinion can slander and bash any bike he hates with little remorse for logic [with the exception of no-brakes/clips, thats just a fool on wheels]
