"Cog tightened using method popularized by track legend Giovanni Petelli" sure is a fancy way of saying "No lockring".

I think it would be hilarious to see on the road, though.

I don't see what's wrong with a cup holder. What if one person prefers coffee to water? A sports bottle full of coffee is odd, or beer!

Different people, different fg, for different needs. Mine's a commuter and I don't take it to the velodrome. I ride to work early in the morning. I look around at other people's commuter's and they're decked out with racks, lights, cup holders, all sorts of stuff.

Yeah I dunno, seems fine by me. It wouldn't really fit my needs for how I ride, but if you're cruising along slow and steady in the morning having a coffee there in front of you is probably pretty damn nice.

Levi is what, 5'6" or 5'7"? Short people don't need a lot of saddle to bar drop. Our arms and torsos aren't long enough for that to make sense - instead an appropriately long TT with less saddle-to-bar drop will get the torso in a sensible position.

Furthermore, aerodynamic analysis seems to be pushing a trend of somewhat higher arms in TT positions, giving the body a slightly more teardrop shape and condensing that frontal area that's hitting the wind. Similarly, when out on breaks, you see a lot of riders with their hands on the hoods and their forearms resting on the ramps/shoulders. It gets their torso where it would be if their hands were in the drops, but keeps their arms higher and closer to the upper body - more aerodynamic, and since they're not in a pack or sprinting (rather, they're just cruising along) they can sacrifice the control and stability that they'd get with their hands in the drops.

The Minoura piece attaches to the handlebars using the "exhaust hanger" looking clamps and then you mount a standard water bottle cage to the 2 holes above and below "Minoura"

It's the mounting bracket to be used with a normal bottle cage. The curved thread parts go through the adapter and around your bars. Then you bolt on your choice of a bottle cage.

I'm pretty sure putting brakes on it would be tarck.
gripless plugless bars at tire height, hipster cysts, 103" when everyone else is between 75-81" and riding it gloveless in cutoffs, sneakers, a bern novelty helmet(with visor), cycling cap(two bills are better than one after all) and formation face tshirt is all about it being a serious track bike however.

normally wearing stupid **** to ride is whatever but not when you're trying to decide on $2000 race wheels before you've spent $200 on the proper attire(hell $100 would probably do it).

somehow even with your tremendous analysis i think i'd much rather hang out with that guy way before i'd hang out with you

but your judgment skills are bar none, i'll give you that.

$2000 race wheels? I see DP18's?

It looks like he's got the same $35 pedals as me. Go me.

That thing just screams uncomfortable to me. It's whatever.

https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/545423-aero-wheelset.html
He doesn't have 2k wheels yet but he's determined that if he's going to do this track thing he's going to do it right and that means aero race wheels for his first cat5 race. He's just not sure whether he'll go for the cane creek enduro 80s or the 1080/sub9 combo yet. The money is already set aside. First race wheels, then his r3 or soloist s2(which he will also use the race wheels on) and finally a cross bike.

somehow even with your tremendous analysis i think i'd much rather hang out with that guy way before i'd hang out with you
luckily for you he would probably much rather be hanging out with you long before I would.

Also don't get me wrong I hope this kid actually ends up racing but his insistence on learning everything the hard way rather than taking some advice is just hilarious.
