Up until now ive ridden either drops or bullhorns. Recently i got a set of risers for fun, then got some gold ones instead. When i first put em on, i felt like my 90mm stem was too short but they felt nice. Picked up an as-new 100mm stem for 20 bucks (Yay PUNCH Cycles) and swapped it out.
WOW, i am having so much fun with these things! Being a longtime BMXer risers are PERFECT for me. Im not sure ill ever be taking these thing off. Im so in love with these.

I prefer bullhorns most of the time, but the risers are fun.

I just got a new set of risers tonight. they are nice.

Everyone that has risers seems to be in love with them. Personally I think as far as aesthetics, they can be hit or miss, but because everyone is loving them purely for their function I really want to jump on the fun immediately. I found some nice ones at the shop today but I didn't particularly want black, I'll search for some silver ones preferably in aluminum and post pics later. The B123's are treating me fine for now though.

I like em on my beater Ihave two other bikes with various handle bar set ups all are comfy

I love risers too. Somehow they make the bike handle totally different than any other type of bar I have tried. I use bullhorns every once in a while because it's fun to skid for miles and I just like changing **** up, but I keep coming back to risers every time.

I ride old cut-down steel risers. I like an upright position and have never been bummed that I couldn't switch up my hand position.

But yeah, how so does it make the bike handle different? It seems like it'd make wheelies and possibly bunny hops much easier with the leverage, and probably make turning a bit more easy w/ the bars as opposed to leaning... that's the impression I get in my head atleast, I've only ridden flats, drops and flip/clip DIY bulls.

It def makes wheelie and bunny hops easier. I can ride backwards easier too.
As for handling i think its a lot quicker and feels more precise. Great for city riding. I rode 20 miles on em the other day and never wished i could move my hands. They arent as good for hills as bullhorns though.

They make the handling a lot more snappy. Like able to quickly whip the bike through traffic snappy. Hard to describe unless you actually try them.

and deathhare...thanks man. It's not NJS beauty but it gets a few looks here and there and has been drop dead reliable/fun for the last year or so.

that all depends on the width of the bar

somone post up a link for some cheap risers and btw. I've seen many risers ridden flipped anyone know how it feels...? seems odd.

I love the way drops look more than anything else .....but man its too hard to go back to drops after risers.

mostly when you try to skid at higher speeds and to hit your knee on the drop, causing you to swerve like crazy and almost drop your bike a 15mph plus ....that scared my risers right back on . but I did just order some brand new b123aas for more dress up time.....cause they are sooooo purdy.

I've eaten some serious **** trying to skid with risers. I also can't climb half as well as I can with drops or bullhorns for obvious reasons. For quick jaunts around the flat part of town, risers are great, but for anything else I'll take bullhorns first and then drops.

Here's my bike with risers. I've gone for rides up to 35 miles with it, but beyond that I need more hand positions.

First time for me on my new bike, I like! Been working messenger on it for about a month, really nice for city riding :D

I love risers also. Especially on really stiff bikes. But, if i'm going out for anything over 20 miles, I can't use them. They annoy me on longer rides.
