And it has a front brake.
I mention the front brake because that makes it a street bike.
I wonder if Crumpton meant this to ride on the street or as an advertising one-off project.

FYI, the brake doesn't work. I was able to pull the "cable" (really a plastic cord) out of its holster at Interbike, which means there's no tension on it... Also, the pads hit the sidewalls of the tire.

Incidentally, Storck now have an ~8.5 lbs (sub 4 kilo) or so roadbike out called Fascenario... it's made of standard, commercially available, non-tuned parts. You can actually order one of those things if you have the dough, they plan to make a small run of them! Frame is a Storck CF <800g job.

That bike is made for Hill Climb races, really popular on the west coast in some areas. Straight uphill, short, and I think there is some stipulation in USCF/UCI rules allowing silly light bikes in that type of race, but I could be wrong.
Also, all USCF races are UCI compliant as of this year.

what part of "it wasnt designed for street abuse," isnt clear to you? its such a non issue i dont even know why its being debated. that bike was awesome at nahbs, but I liked their true track bike better. the crumpton people were very friendly. that bike up there isnt some mass produced bike you can buy, all of their stuff is completely custom. That hill climber was created as a show bike, to show off the skills of the builder, and it succeeded marvelously.

On top, you'll find a Crumpton manufactured carbon seatpost to hold the Tune Carbon/Kevlar saddle.
