Top tube protector.

Vinyl tubing cut lengthwise to fit and wrapped around the top tube. Clear electrical tape to finish.

Perfect for oversized tubes and pretty much crystal clear.

Oh yeah. $0.50 in materials.

An idea for improvement upon this great idea: Add a layer of brass or copper shim around that Vinyl tubing, slightly narrower than the width of the tubing. Then another layer of tubing, clear electrical tape to finish. Home-made Kashimax.

i just did my own twist on this... cut a cola can up and put it inbetween layers... it's like a kashimax but obviously homemade and silver, not gold.

great idea, thanks!

electrical tape over a base layer of teflon plumbers tape (to keep the goop off) is how I roll.

Here's what someone should do:

Sandwich mylar star-shaped confetti beween two layers of vinyl tubing. That'd look hot.
