If vopobl can do this for $500, in a way that I and others could replicate, I would consider that a victory for everyone.

well this certainly blew up.. i think i'm leaning towards just getting a trek t1, theres been a few on ebay, i called all the LBS's that aren't really so local anymore, and none had any in stock.. now just to find a deal on one...

Just a heads-up: There's also a Langster Comp on there, ending today. Good components and I believe they are like 14.9lbs.

you should have seen the thread about drilling a steel bike down to 7lbs

a little old, but saw the titanium frame at bicycle station the other day and mike there only has one or two left. One's a 49? and maybe a 54? but it's def not more than 800 but don't think the guy that makes em is making anymore for the time being.
