record pista bb question

So I just acquired a set of these older record pista cranks.

Not wanting to spend a hundred on the record pista BB, will the cheap 111mm campy road bb's work like this work? All this babble about symetric and asymetric has me confused.

i have those exact same cranks and am running them without problems with a 111mm chorus triple bb. this is on my italian bb'ed track bike with ellipse wheels. also, the chorus triple bb weighs a whopping whole 13 grams more than the pista bb.

so you use this one then? The thing that confused me is the record pista one is symmetric while the chorus triple is assymetric?

yeah, i use the chorus one. the spindle is slightly offset to one side for the road bb's, making it assymetrical, but in all reality any 111mm bb *should* work well enough. i know there are lots of folks on the board who get their chainline PERFECT! according to the specs and measurements etc., but my chainline looks perfectly acceptable. it sounds fine and works great. this is on my race bike too.

they're regular, but campy's bolts are 15mm, rather than the more common 14mm.

the campy peanut butter wrench works perfectly, if you have one. some sockets are too fat to fit into the crank's bolt holes, so i bought a crappy one and ground it down so it could fit.

i thought that photo looked strangely familiar. . . . I TOOK IT i'm selling those for a friend on ebay.

i have those cranks too. i have an older record pista BB that came with my frame. as for crankbolts, the shimano-type crank bolts (with the black plastic washer thingy) didn't sit flush, so i got some of these from alfred e. bike:

heres the link.
