Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Is this scene so new...

that it doesn't translate well into photos yet? Some of this stuff just looks wrong to me. Trying to take action shots of 'tricks' just like you would with skateboarding... is this guy bailing?

I like the congregation of messenger bags sittin' on the curb, drinking 40's.

And you are correct, tricks on track bikes just look dumb on camera... Novel in person, but never exciting...

Bikes: Too Many

There is a fine line between loving your bike and "loving" you bike.

or in other words. One should not dry-hump your bike.

I can't determine if he's riding on his handlebars or doing that weird front dismount thing..

Wheelies always look cool on camera though.

Hipster 'fixie' kit long ago took the lead in effeminate.

The graphic hoodies and bandanas look faaabulous.

How rad can fixie freestyling be or ever get? There are only 4 tricks. 5 if you count riding with no hands.

- Skid
- Wheelie
- Blender
- Deathtruck

Dude, you're totally forgetting about the Dead Albatross, Cracked Musket, and Officer Jenkins. Not to mention the Reverse Pedicure.
