I also think turning around and putting a finger up to one's mouth and doing a long "shhhhhhhhh" move with a smile would cause them to bang their head on the steering wheel. Anyone want to experiment with this and get back to us?

I usually tend to grin and wave (smiles are saved for people who deserve them) quite often these days when homicidal motorists make an attempt on my life. Both hands out with a 'WTF?' experession is my usual style when azzholes cut into my lane without indicating or whatever.

Getting angry gets you nowhere. Just stay chill and keep flexing through the traffic I say.

I like the 'shhhhhh!' idea, Natron.

okay okay okay I was gonna keep this s. hit to my self.. but here we go

I work for a large govt. excavation company installing your water and gas and sewer lines.. i make the 'behind the s. hit' stuff happen... but because it's been winter and nasty.. i was offered two weeks flagging for a PennDot crew.. yeah so i took it

here is what I learned

i'm on the road.. with full schedule III gear on.. reflective leggings.. coat, vest, hardhat., STOP/SLOW signs that are 8feet tall.... everything.. we have 6 signs up each direction with blinkies and flaggs and we have HUGE backhoes and salt trucks and there is just a TON of stuff going on

half of the people i flag down to stop.. it takes the third car AFTER the one i tell to stop.. to stop.. people sometimes scream and yell at me and tell me 'you can't make me wait' or 'i didn't know there was construction going on' (even tho we have detour signs up so people can avoid the whole shebang) i had one lady on the cell trying to push a large dog back from licking her face slam on her brakes and swerve into oncoming traffic and then she told me i did not give her enough warning when i was oh.. 500feet from a flagger sign.. and i was just flagging her on.. not stopping her

okay this is becoming a ramble.. basically people are totally NUTS when in their cars.. i mean holy crap dude.. it's out of control.. i've had people yell at me 'get a car, loser' because i'm flagging.. it's silly.. i told my foreman that we should just have people dressed up as cars telling cars to slow down....

okay the point?

just watch your backs.. the roads are a war.. and the best thing you can do it smile and laugh and try not to die.. don't get pissed.. if you are friendly people usually sometimes are nice also.. and ALWAYS CARRY A CELL PHONE WITH A CAMERA/CAMERA AND TAKE PICTURES OF PEOPLE WHO ALMOST KILL YOU.. then sue them.. or tell them you took a picture of their plates and are gonna sue them.. people are in love and afraid of money.. soo anything that makes them THINK they may not be able to drive.. or have to pay out makes a difference

yeah sorry that was long and i'm bored

Cruise control has been used in cars since long before the actual technological innovation.. Its easy. Point the car forward, put foot on pedal, and imagine you are on a tropical beach getting a tan. Rumble strips exist for a reason people.
