even chain tension

anyone know of a way to get chain tension even throughout the whole crank revolution? sheldon told me to loosen the chainring bolts and tap the chain at its highest tension, this isnt working.

Bikes: Cannondale R500, Specialized Hardrock

Experiment more with it, loosen the bolts more, tap harder (really, you kinda strike it)..

If you really can't get it to work, your parts may be worn, or your chainring may actually be out of round, or your cranks are shot.
