Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

races or critical mass rides. there aren't too many races in my town, and I'm afraid to try any races in SF.

I was actually thinking of making a thread where we could all trade spoke cards we made..I think it'd be pretty sweet.

I kinda think putting a spokecard on your bike and not having raced (or worked a race/checkpoint) for it is kinda lame..

I have spokecards on my road and fixed bike, from races I've ridden those bikes in..

i just let the spokeys in my wheel during race when i come home i remove the new one und use it as beer coaster, cooler or whatever. the spokes are much faster dirty and harder to clean with cards.

but the outlines and shadow of someone riding ith them looks nice

Here in Los Angeles we make spoke cards every time we ride our bikes to the store. Sorry, alleycat racers; your precious subcultural accoutrements are ours now, OURS I TELL YOU!

I left my first one in my wheel for a week, and it got dirty/torn to hell. Now I take them out and put them on the wall by my assorted bike parts, etc.

I had cards from races, but the wind inspired me to take them out because they were making riding more of a chore. The only one I have now was made by my girly.

I don't have any. If I acquire one, I'll probably leave it there. If that makes anyone who sees me ride by think anything in particular about me, one way or the other, fu(k 'em.

I'm too weaksauce to do any races in SF or Oakland, so no. I thought about putting a picture of an ex-girlfriend in there to get grease and city-dirt all over her, but... nah.
