Not every fixed gear has to be a hideous piece of **** designed purely to impress people at the bar. This bike is nice but it's not so special that taking it's gears off for a while would be a sacrilege. It'll be a fun bike to ride fixed or geared and it can always be converted back.

good points duts. i sometimes foreget that theres a real world outside of this forum..maybe i need to get out/ride more.
however some things should be left geared..the op's roadbike is really nice, and imo would be better if it were left geared..
but enjoy it either way

well, I did some of the work on it thanks to you all. I'll do a little more on it tomorrow. I took off the kickstand, added some toe clips, and started to unscrew the rear reflector/taillight and added some knog headlight/taillight flashers since I commute at night a lot. Adjusted the saddle too. My butt hates the seat, but it's better now.
May seek out a brooks at nalsima cycle, or another fizik arione tri since my butt really digs that saddle.
tomorrow might bring some new bar tape. I really like the bullhorns, though. They are great for goring salarymen who have had too much to drink! (I DRINK AT HOME! BARS ARE むり!)
I'll go shopping for parts, hopefully tomorrow if the weather is good.
