Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

bike makeover

i'm currently riding a raleigh fixed road frame - i love the bike. it has classic drop bars and 700X20 tires. it is great for fast rides, but i'm thinking it is going to turn into a bit more of a commuting bike. i am considering risers and some wider tires, perhaps with some tread on them. i am thinking risers to keep my head up in traffic and the tires for greater traction and puncture resistance. anyone have a similar setup - i would love to see pictures. i don't want to spend time/money on a bike i won't like! thanks a lot!
