Anyone own a pair of Rapha fixed shorts?

Hey folks,
A friend who's a whizz with a sewing machine (I believe the technical term is seamstress) is going to make me a new pair of riding shorts. I really like the look of Rapha's Fixed shorts, but not the price tag. Does anyone own a pair they could take some photos of to help put together a pattern?

Also, can you buy just padding for knickers, that could be sewn into them?

Cheers for the help!

One idea might be to just reinforce the ass on the shorts, which might give a little extra padding.

Comfortwise, probably better to just double or triple up on the fabric, and try to get rid of/flatlock the seam going down the back of the pants.

For padding, pick up a couple of pairs of the chamois undershorts or standard bike shorts and wear the underneath. It'll fit better than trying to pad the pants.

Yeah I was considering just layering up the fabric a bit, but my friend who's making them seems to think that won't do much. I'll keep in mind getting rid of the seam at the back, cheers! Definitely keen to make these some damn rockin' shorts.

Any other feature suggestions?

An no one owns a pair of Fixed shorts?

Cheers guys.

I wouldn't worry about being in style; just wear what you like and more importantly, what is comfortable. I don't ride without my bib shorts unless it's down to the store for some beer, 2 miles round trip.

Besides, all this hipster fashion stuff was done over a hundred years ago. Check out this dude:

He's got the black t-shirt, the merino wool shants, and those boots could do some damage.
