I ordered a complete Steamroller through a large internet retailer, but sort of local LBS to me, and have not heard anything about stock issues. If they are having problems and just failed to tell me I am not going to be happy. What size did you order?

I love the look of bare steel too, but I've seen rust rear its ugly head way too soon, even with a clearcoat.

fwiw, why don't you just get a steamroller off of ebay or through an OBS? I support the locals as much as I can, but if they forgot to order your bike, that should be their problem, not yours.

Yeah, stripped down to the metal with Jasco. I attempted to take *only* the clearcoat and subsequently decals off my Mercier frame, but the caustic ass Jasco ate through the paint in about 20 seconds. My only option was to get rid of it all and clear coat with a can of spray paint. It sorta worked, but flaked off every time I locked up. There's some rust in spots, but nothing another shot of Jasco and Naval Jelly can't handle. I'm going to get it powder coated in a month or so. I'm hoping the place I'm going to will be able to source some chalkboard powder coat...
