odyssey black widow bb?

a buddy of mine has a set of odyssey black widow cranks that take a square taper bb that he's considering swapping to his fixie. he asked me about bb size, and i had no idea. tried to look it up and i saw it listed as working with 108, 120 and 128 on some vendors' sites. odyssey doesn't list it on their page, nor do most of the online sellers. i sent an email to odyssey but haven't heard back i know bulletproofs take something like a 107, so my best guess is the 108. just thought i'd toss it out to you guys to see if anyone knows.

as a side note. it seems like most bmx cranks that i've seen aren't listed with a matching bb size. anyone know why this is? afaik bmx has around the same chainline as fg/ss, so it strikes me as odd.

black widows havent been in production for ages(that i know of). as for spindle sizes.... it doesnt really matter with bmx, you use what came with the cranks and switch out the bb bearings to whatever size(spanish, mid, euro, american) you need, and use spacers, then bash the crank arms on with a hammer and a piece of wood.

im pretty sure that it would use just a regular square taper bottom bracket, and youd have to figure out whatever length is needed. get a friend at a shop to try out different sizes until you find out one that lines up well.

Black widows haven't been around for a long time. I'm pretty sure Odyssey themselves suggest not even riding them.

well, they're the euro lite flavor. they are on odyssey's website under products. they are really light and not that substantial looking. which is why i'm thinking of suggesting that he exchange it at danscomp with the sinz square taper...except i don't know if that takes a 108, 113 or 118
