**** 'em

Usually I'd be oozing sympathy, but circuses = animal cruelty. If I find that bike I'll toss it into the East River before I collect on the reward.

NYAHHH.

If you find it, give it to me and pretend you threw it in the river.

So you'll replace animal cruelty with possession of stolen goods and pollution?

An errant piece of flak tore a hole in a wing tank and, like a wounded bird, this is where she landed, not to return on this day, or any other day.

what if you collected the reward, and then donated it to an organization that opposes animal cruelty?

Yea, I eat meat and such but there is something about ringlings using big animals as beatsticks that just seems obsolete to me. Plus, I'm tired of lookin' at that fyooktard's face on billboards all over the city.

Deffinately!!!!!!

Human beings are not the only species of life on this planet.

If you're gonna steal from anyone, might as well be the circus.

Oh PLEASE. That clown doesn't seem to engage in animal cruelty personally. Why punish him?

That's like saying killing cows for leather is animal cruelty so every bike you see with a Brooks saddle on it gets beaten with a hammer until it's a pile of parts and then thrown in a dumpster to teach the rider a lesson. I'm sure you'll make lots of friends here spouting off on that tangent. Give the misplaced activism rants a rest.

he's apathetic which is just as bad. infact he's worse than apathetic, he works for a circus that abuses animals and he ignores the animal cruelty that goes on. he personally may not engage in animal cruelty but he does nothing to stop it or alleviate suffering.

as far as bashing leather saddles i think it's really low on the priority list but if they were the "last frontier" of leather usage then i wouldn't disagree with it. as of now i'm pretty sure that .1% of the leather industry has to do with saddles for bikes.

PS: The clown got his bike back. Woohoo! Ride on, scary clown guy.

As far as animal cruelty.. it sucks, yeah. It's pretty wrong. I just have to put it on the backburner until more serious issues like, you know, governmental cruelty and abuse of humans is resolved first since I find that more appalling and important.

*shrug*

Humans are animals.
Saying that animals "aren't human" is about as meaningful to me as saying that humans "aren't elephants" or elephants "aren't dogs."

And besides, being concerned about human welfare issues shouldn't preclude you being concerned about animal welfare issues. I'm willing to wager that most animal-rights folks are as concerned about human issues as the next guy, if not moreso.

he works at the circus, doesn't he? if he truly cared about the suffering of the animals, using his position as one of the most famous clowns of that circus he has a certain amount of power and say (i assume). his family has been in the circus for generations. obviously if he said treat the animals better or i'm gone maybe ringling and barnum and bailey would change a little for the better since they'd be missing out on his show
