Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Gonna visit a friend there for a few days. Wont have my bike but was wondering if there are any decent LBS in the city. Any carry fixie stuff at all?
My friend doesnt ride so he knows nothing.
Is there much of a fixed gear scene there at all? How many riders there?

thanks

Bikes: Titus road, Fort CX

Faster Moustache (for bike fun, not an LBS) or something...

my friends Ira and Andrea just passed through there on their bike trip around the US. Looked fun

little 5 points- check out outback bikes. not exactly display cases filled with shiny cogs and hubs, but langsters and pistas on the sales floor, and good people.

I'm usually not one to complain about people not searching but these "what shops should I check out" threads are stupid.

all you need to know and more

Hey thanks. I admit, i dint search
Now that i click..i remember that thread, vaguely.
Seems like there's a decent group of disgruntled fixed gear riders there.

There's quite a lot of folks riding fixie here, mostly midtown/downtown/east atlanta. Faster Mustache is probably the most open bike community I know of in the city, and has plenty of members who ride fixed. Also, Atlanta Velo Exchange up on Collier at Howell Mill has lots of track stuff, I bought my wheelset there, and they have sponsored some FM events like the annual 24hr race.
