i'm flattered. maybe even a little curious. but i'm afraid the answer is no.

shishi 04-08-07 09:08 AM

Can you get cheap air/train fare to NYC or washington? Cause then you are a short chinatown bus ride away

humancongereel 04-08-07 12:47 PM

ahh, good thought. i looked at gas prices and we can't drive out, for sure.

and...forget the "3way" typo, i was drunk.

Do it old school, hop a freight train... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kycDkIABM0A.

just kidding, that **** is dumber than riding brakeless, but it looks like fun.

Ian,

I also want to go to that race, however I'm attempting to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris and the first ride is on the same day as the Fool's Race!

sorry, kinda a noob at the whole alleycat thing...i've taken the chinatown bus once before, but not with a bike...is it okay to just throw a fully assembled bike in the cargo space under the bus, or do they require it to be in a box or bag...

sounds like fun...especially at a paltry $5

yes, you can put your bike below. The best thing to do is to lock it to a support standing up so it doesnt bang around. also, if you dont have a top tube pad bring something to wrap around whatever tube is leaning on the support. They dont give a ***** what you bring. Ive seen them put live chickens under there.

also, yes.... 5 bucks for a t-shirt, spokecard, afterparty, and memories of the most fun race of the year is a good deal indeed.

BEST RACE EVARRRR!

And there's plenty of housing to be had. We're kindly folk around these parts.

skinnyland 04-11-07 09:42 AM

Oh yeah... almost forgot about that! Just so happens that this weekend I'm moving to Philly. Was planning on coming to the race anyway, but this is oh-so-convenient. :D

hm.... here: http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php...light=april+14

666pack 04-11-07 10:27 AM

i might go... i'm gonna be in the city friday night for the phils game so i might just bring my bike home with me and go to the race on saturday. but probably not.

skinnyland 04-12-07 11:02 AM

Any out-of-towners coming who need a place to crash, and perhaps something to do after the race/party, I've got couch/floor space, and there's a killer warehouse party in North Liberties that night. I will be biking to it, hammered. Send me a pm.

IDeliverPitas 04-12-07 12:10 PM

Any out of towners are welcome to stay at my place also. As I yet I have not yet figured out if I can get out of work early so I can make the race but I'll definitely be home by 4 so my place is open. Also I'd like to interview participants about the race for an ongoing documentary project about biking in philly that I am working on. For that matter, I'd like to interview any Philly bikers or people who have something to say about philly bikers at anytime, I've been pretty lazy about setting up interviews (also I'm pretty shy about asking people so that has been a problem.)

humancongereel 04-12-07 04:17 PM

i'm pretty bummed, but still no way out there. i am, however, going to spend the weekend in the woods with some friends, so that's cool.
