Another old (very) guy here. Chief Engineer for a hotel now. Work for a company who pay me to travel the world (or anywhere they have a hotel!). First job ever was as a bike messenger. For a shoe shop in Dublin, Ireland. Bike got stolen after 3 days. I was 13 years of age. Never went back to messengering after that.

Website manager / web-coder / writer / editor / doctor-to-normal-english-translator / academic wrangler / designer / general computer jockey at a large medical center. Kind of draining at times, but usually challenging in a good way (and pays the bills).

Audio engineer at a narrative sound studio. It's pretty boring most of the time, but I get to work with protools (which I love!) every day. Also a little mix to pix on the side (trying to do more).

I was the receiving manager and now a warehouse manager for a multi-national locust-like Swedish furniture store. It's a great company to work for and I strangely enough, enjoy my job.

I'd say Pittsburgh isn't that friendly of a bike city. The roads are pretty eaten up, the hills are tough, and the drivers don't always pay attention to the bikers. However there seems to be plenty of organizations + people trying to make a change. This probably isn't the worst of cities... but it definitely isn't that bike friendly.

What do you guys do during the day (or night) to make ends meet?
Uh... remove gallbladders, mostly. A liver every week or so, too.

Liver surgery is very, very cool. I'm pretty lucky to be able to do this.

In my spare time I ride (fixed, touring or tandem; occasional cross country on the tourer) and I'm a medical volunteer for Bicycle Victoria on some of their organised tours.
