Townies are for guys (like me) that are trying to hold onto their youth, but are slowly slipping into retro-grouch territory.

all bikes approach townies/commuters. Or is it that all riders end up there? |
Hahahaha ... Deep Vs on a townie look awesome. Welcome to so wrong it's right territory.

'Tis funny because Townie is a brand of comfort bikes.. like, seriously semi-recumbent comfort bikes. Sold one yesterday.

Here's my 24" Hiawatha with 26" rims and tires. It'll go anywhere. I think it was made in '46.

Some people keep posting typical stripped-down fixed gears and calling them 'townies'. Nice bikes, but they're not townies. You need practical non-racing crap, like fenders, racks, promenade bars, or what-not.
