Ok. Not finished, and not SS either (but Mattface started it). You KNOW you'll all want this bike when it's done.

no! touring I would imagine. I was a bike my ex-girl friends dad was throwing away. |
Sammyboy I totally want that bike! I see where you're going, and that's exactly what I want to build next.
|
I want it to be, like, the blingiest, lightest upright 3 speed ever. The frame is from a very early Dawes Galaxy, all 531, with all the lovely chromey bits (love the fork crown). The Stronglight cottered double crankset is coming off, and should sell for what I payed for the whole lot. I bought an 80's 3 speed, which donated the cockpit and wheels, and since it has a generator hub, it donated the front light too. I had lightweight plastic fenders with chrome strips, and a suitably old Brooks in my boxes of stuff, and I was away! It'll get an alloy crankset, a bullet rear light, the chainguard of the other bike (which only cost me a fiver), and then I'll cable it up and be good to go!

No fenders, no racks, no lights, no promenades/risers/mustache/randonneur bars, no slack geometry!?
Wrong thread, yo. |

My townie got stolen today :(

^That Guerciotti it nice, but looks too "fast" to be a townie. That there is a youngster bike.
As for the peugeot, you are almost there. Just get some Jitensa bars, or a set of flipped north and you'll rock that "townie style". |
I can almost ride this bike in my sleep.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...tional-023.jpg Looks pretty much the same but its rocking some Eggbeater MXR's with black spindles now. Its not really my townie--I ride it everywhere--but I like to show off the Ocean Ghost every chance I can (including at parties with sorority girls when I show up sweaty in tattered rags):D . |
My Schwinn Speedster, 3 speed coaster riding on moby bites with a big shifter.

I would totally ride that Schwinn. That's a kind of bike we just don't have in the UK. I know we were the winners, having 10 speeds when you guys could only get those, but hey, I'd like both......
And Mattface - I love my Pletscher rack. It's period appropriate! |
