Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah. Seriously. I just squeezed my Felt TK2 track bike and no flex.

It's a 7005 AL alloy. Maybe that's the difference? My new road bars are 6xxx series AL, and they flex a bit. And yes, I ride in the street.

I didn't expect you guys to take that so seriously.

Anyway the only bike in the shop that does it is the Trek 1000, out of who knows how many aluminum bikes on the floor I just squeezed like an idiot. It's not much, and it's only really visible in reflections on the surface.

I don't know what that says re: roadgator's "properly designed frames", but there it is.

I wouldn't expect something like a Felt track bike to do it, that's for sure.

ha. no worries.

i did get to squeezing like an idiot, because the bike is very definitely an upgrade from the conversion beater that i had before. i love the fact that the thing is light as hell, but have been in a couple of fork-destroying accidents with cars on steel frames. on said beater.

this thread just makes me paranoid all over again, and i thought i was past that worry.
