I was talking to a friend last night about how I wish there was a little shelf in the shower with a canopy about 15cm above it so that you could put a bottle of beer there without getting shampoo and water in it.

He thought I was really weird for drinking beer in the shower. Am I alone in this; in the summer when I get home after a serious ride, what elso do you want apart from a beer and a shower, so why not have them both at the same time? Until I get that beer shelf installed, I have to put the beer at the other end of the bath and keep walking back and forth to drink/wash.

This doesn't seem very bicycle related, but yes, drinking beer in the shower is good. I'm sure you can find a suction-cup cup holder, and just stick it high on the shower wall, so it's above the danger zone, but still in arm's reach.

No more beer for me since I met Bill W., but I do enjoy a steamin' cuppa joe in the shower. Different beverage, same problem. No, I don't think you're weird.

- please, whatever you do, use a recyclable plastic 16 oz. container of beer... that way if you slip and drop the soap-on-a-rope your significant other won't suffer glass cuts...

We've had in depth discussions about this at my office. Everyone should at least one in their lives drink a beer in the shower. Strangely enough all the guys had, and the girls really hadn't in our office poll. Or I guess you could see that as not strangely enough.

I've recently decided that I need a CO2 kegging system somewhere central in my house, so I can have taps in each room--except the shower, where I will install a camel-back style bite valve/tube setup, to avoid watering down or heating up the delicious beverage. Until then, though, I think sippy cups may be the solution...

I'm convinced that there is nothing better on the face of god's green earth than an ice cold beer, a shower so hot you almost can't stand it, and a blow job. At the same time.

Fear not, your behavior is perfectly natural and healthy. I have met many, many men and women (myself included) who enjoy consuming beer while showering or taking a bath. If you do go through with your plan to install a beer shelf & canopy (brilliant!), I can only recommend that you install a double-wide.. just in case you happen to stumble across one of these remarkable females who shares our interest in drinking in the shower.

There was a thread about this in Foo a few months ago. I tried it and wondered why I'd never thought of it before. Now I do it after I mow the lawn sometimes too.

The key to the soap/water problem is to drink from twist cap bottles. You can twist the cap back on and set it on the soap tray. I've even had luck just setting a normal cap on the top, but the twist cap ones are the best.

I don't always shower right after a ride. I often kick it on the patio or in the garage with the bike for a while. I like to make little adjustments , wash it, look at it, caress it, etc... Those moments are often spent with a cold one in hand too.
