Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I believe it actually came from a local post office when they remodeled many many years ago (decades). All of the stuff behind the table with tool box picture is crates and crates of stained glass. My mom hasn't done any stained glass in many many years so I took over the area and that storage unit.

The above storage unit use to be one piece. It was a 4'x4' square with drawers on each side. The neighbor was throwing it out and I wanted it for the basement shop. My Dad and I tried to carry it downstairs, but it wouldn't fit (and it is heavy as all hell!!). So we chopped it in half and I built a support for the top unit. It had casters so I moved them to the bottom unit and screwed and nail gunned both together as one. It is full of parts and can be rolled easily by one person. The top has a bunch of my own nice parts on it.

My organization still sucks, but it is getting better. I have worked on it the past couple of weeks trying to get everything organized. And, just think ALL of this has been collected in just over a year (except for the two 29er MTBs in the pics). I need help!!!!! Anybody in S.E. Michigan looking for any parts!

As for me my shop is packed up.

It's a House Centipede, they get more legs with every molt (i think of to 13 pairs for this species). They are predators, eating insects, in your basement. they are harmless to you unless you grab it, when it might give you a bite, which will probably hurt (I've never tried to get bitten by one to find out) but is otherwise harmless.

Imagine one trying to ride a bike, Is there a word for a 13 crank-set tandem style bike, or is it just a "13 person tandem"?

This is what happens when you work in shops for 15 yrs. And wrench for a few teams. And generally live and breath bikes full time for a decade. Now its a hobby and I love it more then ever!

Your work area reminds me of my dad and cars. He's about to put in a lift so he can do more work himself.

He appreciates my bikes and such however.

Nice call with the bar tape grips on the chain whips. I might just have to steal that idea ;-) Lovin that Campy wrench suit -- and the whole workshop for that matter.

Usually a few thousand. I think there is a distributor here in the states that still has a few new in the cases and they were asking $2500-3000 I believe. That is for the full kit. The reduced one usually goes for $1000 less or so.
And then theres the freewheel tool kit.... not that I would use it but it sure is nice!
