Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I used to lust after the Dr Dew. It's a ice bike, but if you don't like it you don't like it. If memory serves the thing retails for about a grand. You should be able to get enough for it used to get both an entry level fixed, and a decent 80s roadbike for geared riding. Or get something like a crosscheck. Then when you get bored of riding it SS set it up geared.
