I've been watching this thread; here is the result:

Ordered from Spicer Cycles. 60cm, stickers were simply sent along in the box. Threadless, no bottle mounts. That orange sticker is just a warning about riding with no brakes and no reflectors and will come right off. I should have it built in a month or so.

Is this Spicer the same as the one here: https://www.spicercycles.com/index.cg...at_desc=Track? I take it they ship without the shown decals on. I've been searching for alternatives now that bikeisland is sold out. It's $25 more and maybe shipping too.

That's it exactly. My impression is that he has few left, but that a re-stocking is planned.

I went for it because I wanted a threadless steerer and I didn't find another source with that setup for this frame. I exchanged a couple of emails and happily found the stickers were left up to the customer. With shipping to Oregon it worked out to about $265.

Gene was very cool to deal with.

The Encino velodrome isn't too bad. The day I went it was 7 bucks, but that was a special event. I have a feeling its a bit more for the keirin class.

since the build was finished, i swapped out the bullhorns for some risers, added a nice dent to my tt and an obama spoke card

How does that Obama spoke card affect the handling?

I bought the Spicer frame back in Feb./March. It is exactly the same frame as the old Kilos, meaning there are no bottle mounts. The decals are over the paint and are easy to remove. So even if you forget to request "no stickers" there is no hassle getting them off. It does only come in one color, but the paint job seem to be of a higher quality than the bike island frames. I've ridden it for 3 months now and I barely see any scratches. It comes with a 1 inch threadless fork (there are no threads on the fork whatsoever), and a silver seatpost collar. Unlike the kilo, there are no screws in the rack mounts.

Gene from Spicer cycles was also very friendly and even if he was busy and couldn't answer your question, his wife would get on the computer and answer it for you!

So, the extra 50 bucks was worth the customer service, the quality shipping, and the fact that it was actually in stock!

PS: here a post I made back in march. My bike now has a brooks https://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.p...postcount=2679

spicer makes his own frames, but he also sells taiwanese frames for those who can't pay for the real deal.

No experience personally with the obama spoke card but I can only assume it leaves white women in the dust.

i just bought a 50cm kilo tt off craigslist and the toe overlap sucks. This is my first fixed gear. Any tips to avoid this before I get new clips? Also what clips do you guys recommend to help with this?

because you don't turn the front wheel as much when you're going fast.
