does the kilo frame have an "aero" (eliptical/ovate) bottom tube or is it round?

50cm for me too

I'm 5'9" and I must have some short legs cause the 50cm fits me perfectly. The standover is perfect with the seat mid range and I use a 110mm stem to adjust reach - got long arms. I think size is a real personal thing.

Size is personal but I've noticed a tendency for taller guys to like the smaller TT frames. I'm 5' 7/8 and i think the 53 is a perfect fit for me, everyone's different

The shape of the downtube is kind of like a teardrop shape.

I covered the nipples and about a few inches of the spokes with tape and just sprayed. I did clean the surface with a degreaser before I painted but that's a given. The reason I did this, and I found out totally by accident, is that the original paint on the TT PRO's wheels isn't paint at all but powder coating that can't be removed with paint remover. If there's any over-spray on the spokes higher than where you taped just get some light sandpaper and clean them up.

here's what mine came out looking like with $3 spray paint and not much prep work.

The reason I found out the wheels are powder coated is that I went to strip the paint from the front wheel to run a brake and only my sprayed paint came off leaving the original stuff untouched.

Overall very nice, but I'm not sure if I dig the red grips. And your stem looks a bit long; however if it fits you like that then great. I'd love to see it with some nice drops on there. I was thinking of swapping out my white deep v's for some black ones like yours with the silver spokes. Looks nice.

^Thanks! I know the red grips were bugging me at first but since they were what my friend had laying around I figure I'd use them until I get some black ones, and the stem does looks long but it feels pretty good since I just swapped my drops for the risers to try something different. I put up a pick of the bike before the new parts etc...

Haha that is so bizzare, after I posted my comment (before you edited your comment and put the first pic up with the older parts) I was messing around in photoshop to see what my bike would look like with black rims, and then I tried a version with silver rims, and low and behold you put up a pick of your bike with silver rims.

I really love the look with the silver rims too, I'm thinking I might make that swap. what kind of rims are those silver ones? They don't look like deep v's...

How often does bikesdirect restock and put out new colors? Looking for a purple or green, or can these bikes be purchased anywhere else?

i'm not the one with an e-brake mounted on the top tube. if the brake was mounted on the handle bars and not in that horrible spot that requires you to take a hand off your bars and reach between your legs to grab a brake it would be a nice bike (albeit a little too much green and white for my taste). i'll stop the hate when people take their heads out of their ass and just install your brakes correctly or don't have them at all (because that brake is worthless if you ever needed to stop to avoid a serious accident).

*you are probably a nice guy and love riding but i can't stand to see that **** because some people are going to see that and think that it's a good idea and they will have zero skill to make that happen

He has the brake to avoid getting ticketed for riding brakeless. Its his way of "sticking it to the man" and is the only legal way to ride "brakeless"

I don't see a problem with a bandana though. I use them to tie my polo mallet to my top bar while I am traveling (I prefer not to carry them on my back since they are fairly long.). I also use them to wipe my face when I sweat on longer rides, although usually in that case I don't have them tied to my frame.
