Zip, sort of off-topic, but did you buy the black spacers left on your steerer tube or did you just paint the stock ones? If you did buy them, where?
Thanks!

ordered my green 53cm kilo tt on saturday, got it today (thursday evening).

some random observations: sizing is fine (i am 5'11" with 32" inseam) except the handlebars are really uncomfortable and the pedals are a bit tricky for me to get into (was wearing basketball sneakers so maybe too wide?). green looks sharp but damn i wish i got the grape soda before they sold out in size 53. and i also can't get the frickin' crank bolts off (though it looks like my new cranks/bb have too long of a spindle anyway, sigh). the 16t cog has holes drilled through it, looks pretty cool; aluminum lockring looks cheap. i don't usually skid but i did it for fun and on the third skid i felt a small slip (this was after i tightened everything down pretty well). not a big deal i got one of those bikeisland brakes anyway. 48x16 is just a tad tall for my liking.

Do you think you could've gotten a size 55 and still be comfortable? I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna get a 55 and I'm just a little bit bigger than you.

Just got a new rear rim and hub. A Mavic 700c Open Sport with Formula Track Hub, has anyone had any experience with this set up before? The hub of the rim. Because after destroying the stock hub, I am skeptical on skidding and putting excess pressure on the drive train.

stripped the hub on my kilo like day 2 after legit tightening the thing down. just that the hub threads ad all aren't that strong. JB welded it on and it is gonna be good forever, but anyway I replaced it recently and am much happier with a nicer wheelset anyhow.

That's too small, but you'll look so cool with a foot of seatpost showing, so it's worth it.

Also, is anyone have problems with the stock chainring, that is if you kept it. I think mine is bent, because when the pedals turn it doesn't sound as if the chain is meshing smoothly with the chainring. Probably just going to get a new one from my LBS. Other the the whole rear wheel, I have had no other problems with the bike. And is there anyone on here thats from the philadelphia area? Trying to riddee?

uh, no the kilo does not run 56 on the top tube, it's 54.8. don't know where you're getting your info from, but, for some one who is the first to post "use the search button" in every forum you always seem to have bad advice!

Hope this isn't a totally dumb question but ... I ordered the cream Mercier the other day and it's shipping to my house. But I won't be there to pick it up, so I am afraid they won't leave it at my apartment. I can have the bike shipped to my work place but then I would have to carry it home ... is the box heavy or unmanageable? I think it's classified as 30 lbs which isn't bad but if its awkward I'd rather not have to worry about carrying it on public transit at rush hour ...

yeh, it's somewhat cumbersome. i wouldn't want to have to lug it on the train/bus...not to mention the glares you might get from other passengers. fyi, the box is a little over 4' long/2.5' tall/8" wide and i seriously doubt it really weighs 30lbs, more like a low twenty.

if you can, just bring a 15mm wrench and an allen set and build it up (15 minutes) at work and take that with you.

I was considering doing that, but then I would have to walk to work (I ride a bike to work, so I would either have to have 2 bikes at work and walk home the following day, or walk to work and ride home on the new bike. Either way I have to walk.). I guess that wouldn't be terrible though ... just far.
