Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Whoops, you forgot to read the thread.

you might want to consider a freewheel and both brakes! you'll still have a simple machine. you'll still have traffic friendly geometry. you can go as fast as your heart desires with no worries. you won't be carried through the dead spots, so will develop a more disciplined spin (if you so choose). you can coast (which is nice for taking pictures, smoking cigs, sipping flasks, and a host of other things). this will make you anti-establishment which might be as badass as frequent rear tire replacements. make sure you get kool stop salmon pads. and eat plenty of greens. i think pale yellow is nice with sidewall mesh red-brown. man, now i'm hungry.

Spooki you are being quite a ******bag today. FYI, I'm almost certain you are in violation of some of the forum guidelines.

No, I saw that, it's the attitude.

Anyone can google, but good advice from experienced people can help make decisions among a lot of seemingly equal choices to the uninformed mind.

Oh well, I guess you have the right to be a ******. You've NEVER made a decision you've later realized was wrong, right?

I wouldn't listen to these "enthusiasts". They are trying to be an image and sometimes its not always pratical
or fun. You can really get anything. I currently ride a waterford 1900 track bike with a carbon fork and wheels. It looks pretty fuking cool.

When I'm on those other forums and people talk crap about BF, I sometimes feel the need to stick up for the ol' guy. After reading through this shitpile, less so.
