The Best Crank + Pedal Combo
what are yours?
|
Truvativ Rouleur Track (external BB, 2-piece crankset)
Sugino Messenger 3/32" x 46T Crank Bros. Eggbeaters C (I should do better) All in black, of course. Cog is a Phil Wood Stainless 17T, chain: SRAM PC-68. Love my drivetrain, I brag about it whenever I can. |
On the 62cm Steamroller it's Time Atacs screwed into Miche Primato cranks at 175mm. I run 700x32 tires so nicking my pedals rarely happens. oh yeah, 49x19 with 1/8in chain.
The 59cm steamroller has Time Atac Aliums in 170mm SuginoRD. This bike has bigger knobby tires for gettin ig'nint and thusly I run 38x17. No complaints and many smiles. |
Dura Ace 165mm cranks, SR SP-11 pedals, MKS toe clips, double straps, toe strap doublers.
|
sugino 75... why anything less?
|
I just ordered an ultegra road double and a 105BB, and while i'm scared stiff that it won't make a straight chainline or just won't fit on my bike- i'm fairly confident that it should be prettty sweet. My pedals are pretty boring...

Gipemme Pista cranks (165) with Campagnolo C-Record pedals. Campy straps and buttons. Super comfy...no pinching, fits the fattest of my sneakers. No overlap. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/DSC05159.jpg |
Sugino 75 / MKS Track Pedals / Toshi Double Straps.
Very good combo, however with 170's I have had the bottom of the pedal scrape the ground on very tight / sharp turns. Haven't fallen as a result of it yet though. |
Sugino 75 + eggbeaters on my daily rider; probably switch out to ATACs, now that the pedals have developed quite a bit of play.
Pre 67 Campy Pista cranks (151 BCD) + Campy Pista pedals, Clips, Cinelli laminated straps on the weekend bike. |
can someone give a little 'review' of those campagnolo C-Record pedals. Campy straps and buttons?
i've never seen those before? are they good? |
75s and custom nuevos. mmm.
|
Truvativ Elita with eggbetaters or Shimano hollowtech II with eggbetaters.
|
Sugino 75 crank and ring / XTR 970 pedals. Best I've ever had.
|
Campagnolo 170mm Record Cranks + Look PP156 pedals
Miche Primato 170mm Cranks + Campagnolo Super Legerro Pedals in black Sugino 75 175mm + Campagnolo Super Legerro Pedals in Silver |
Pake "track" cranks, 42 Tooth Rocket ring, SPD's.
Cheap, ugly, and does the job. Used to run MKS Sylvan's, w/ MKS cages and straps. Did the job fine, one strap snapped but this was after a year of abuse. |
