Bikes: Cannondale R500, Specialized Hardrock

Truvativ Rouleur Track (external BB, 2-piece crankset)
Sugino Messenger 3/32" x 46T
Crank Bros. Eggbeaters C (I should do better)

All in black, of course. Cog is a Phil Wood Stainless 17T, chain: SRAM PC-68. Love my drivetrain, I brag about it whenever I can.

Bikes: '97 HooKooEKoo + '75-'85 Fuji Regis fixie conversion.

On the 62cm Steamroller it's Time Atacs screwed into Miche Primato cranks at 175mm. I run 700x32 tires so nicking my pedals rarely happens. oh yeah, 49x19 with 1/8in chain.

The 59cm steamroller has Time Atac Aliums in 170mm SuginoRD. This bike has bigger knobby tires for gettin ig'nint and thusly I run 38x17.

No complaints and many smiles.

I just ordered an ultegra road double and a 105BB, and while i'm scared stiff that it won't make a straight chainline or just won't fit on my bike- i'm fairly confident that it should be prettty sweet. My pedals are pretty boring...

Sugino 75 / MKS Track Pedals / Toshi Double Straps.

Very good combo, however with 170's I have had the bottom of the pedal scrape the ground on very tight / sharp turns. Haven't fallen as a result of it yet though.

Sugino 75 + eggbeaters on my daily rider; probably switch out to ATACs, now that the pedals have developed quite a bit of play.

Pre 67 Campy Pista cranks (151 BCD) + Campy Pista pedals, Clips, Cinelli laminated straps on the weekend bike.

Pake "track" cranks, 42 Tooth Rocket ring, SPD's.
Cheap, ugly, and does the job.
Used to run MKS Sylvan's, w/ MKS cages and straps. Did the job fine, one strap snapped but this was after a year of abuse.

The cranks are fine, but speaking from personal experience the big ring is far too flexy. An inexpensive 110bcd chainring w/ a large tooth count is not something that will respond well to an out of the saddle sprint. That being said, since these cranks come on so many new bikes these days, they're easy to find second hand once people upgrade to "whatever" ... and a replacement ring is easy to find as well.

I don't use stock rings, I don't use 110bcd for road (its for wusses or for people who live around constant really steep hills) and I agree, 110 BCD and a 45t+ ring is not good. I use various different track/bmx rings from the LBS I work at and if I can find an ISIS 144bcd crank, I can throw on a Campy Nuovo Record (if that ever came in Pista, otherwise it is just Record pista) ring which was mysteriously laying there amidst a pile of NOS track stuff.
