The cranks are fine, but speaking from personal experience the big ring is far too flexy. An inexpensive 110bcd chainring w/ a large tooth count is not something that will respond well to an out of the saddle sprint. That being said, since these cranks come on so many new bikes these days, they're easy to find second hand once people upgrade to "whatever" ... and a replacement ring is easy to find as well.

or for people who live around constant really steep hills) and I agree, 110 BCD and a 45t+ ring is not good. I use various different track/bmx rings from the LBS I work at and if I can find an ISIS 144bcd crank, I can throw on a Campy Nuovo Record (if that ever came in Pista, otherwise it is just Record pista) ring which was mysteriously laying there amidst a pile of NOS track stuff.
