quick Q about track hubs and the threading

I have machined out a new axle for some track hubs I have, matched the threading and key way... but added length so I could space it for 130mm drops... but I now want to use these hubs for a multi-speed build, so I will be threading a freewheel 4 or 5sp cassette on it. My question is their a sufficient number of threads on a track hub to hold a cassette properly?

And they are HF c-record hubs and cant seem to locate a road set to build with.

also I like the Idea of the bolt, versus QR.

???

nope. there is no way to put a cassette on a track hub, or a freewheel hub for that matter.

if you are confusing freewheel with cassette, then yes, it will work fine. you'll obviously have to respace the hubs and dish the wheel appropriately.

I think the hub is too wide. I don't think you'll be able to dish it enough even if you were able to secure a freewheel cassette on it.

hmm, I guess i didn't check to see if the cassette would even thread on yet.. they are both Italian thread so I assumed it would thread on the same as a cog... I guess not.

Also, as for the width.. good thought, the 4 sp freewheel isn't that wide.. but..

ok maybe its not gonna work, thaks for the info fellas..

AHHHH, I see what you mean... it won't even reach the threads past the lockring threads..

cheers
