Hi Guys,

Please excuse my novice description.

I've just bought an '07 Bianchi Pista for which I wanted front brake. So I picked up a brake lever which then didn't fit around the handlebar. The bar was too big for it.
So I went to another store where I was told I needed an over-size brake lever.. Got one of those, just got back and that doesn't seem to fit either as the lever is too big..

As I've been told they only seem to come in two sizes? Is this right?

Does anyone have any suggestions for what brake to get and where from (i'm based in London)

I appreciate your help in advance.

you could use a shim???

works fine as the emergency backup

Yeah I'm riding the 07 almost completely stock. I can't say I'm 100% sure that those are the levers I'm running but I'm pretty sure.

Where did you get it from?

Did it fit straight out of the box?

They put it on in the shop where I bought the bike, and I'm pretty sure it fit without any tinkering.

BMX brake should able to fit...
Do u know the size of ur bar by anychance?

I think it's a 24mm! I just measured it.

The larger ones I have are https://www.canecreek.com/crosstop_lvr.html I fifgured they are the 36mm ones. The smaller one I have is the https://www.billys.co.uk/english/grou...nkpfcfuuf0ava2. I guess I must have the 22mm ones.

I guess I need to hunt down a 24mm one?

Correction..

According to the website it is a 26mm bar

The part that is clamped into the stem is 26 mm, but the outer part where it's taped is 24 mm, so you want levers made for 26 mm bars.

canecreek one should able to fit with a shim...

How big is the lever that's "too big"? My lever was too big, but it came with rubber shims that made it only "slightly too big". Electrical tape solved the problem. Just go over the part of the handlebar that the brake lever would go around, a couple times with the tape and then put the brake lever on. It works pretty well. The guy at my co-op also suggested cut up beer cans, but I like the electrical tape idea better.
