118 chainring BCD help
i have custom Miyata cranks--118 BCD. i want a new chainring but can't find one. am i going to have to change my cranks?
it's forcing me to ride 42-16 which i don't want to do. im more of a 44-16/46-16 type of guy

Replace the cog instead. For a rare bolthole pattern, even if replacements are available the choice of sizes might be limited to what you've already got.
A 15t cog with your 42t chainring will be 73.9 gear inches, which is almost exactly between 44-16 (72.5 g.i.) or 46-16 (75.8 g.i.).

I've got a Miyata with weird chainrig BCD as well. My local shop had a big stack left over from a million years ago and I found a 44t in there for like $10. I'll double check that my BCD is 118 and see what they have left if it is.
